I’v made my decision.

I started researching, with a very open mind, the two candidates back before I became a state delegate. I have spent hundreds of hours watching, talking to, and researching the candidates backgrounds to decide who is the best candidate. Initially I felt great about both of them, but after enough investigating you can tell Mike lee has a lot more knowledge, and substance.

I appreciate that the things he believes in, are the same things he talked about six months ago. I have also found after searching both their backgrounds Mike Lee lives a life more congruent with what he says. I also appreciate that he has ran a very clean and positive campaign, from what I have actually seen go on with my own eyes (just because some one says someone is being negative, doesn’t mean they are ).

I did not know either of the candidates what so ever (I didn’t even know who Rex Lee was). So I can honestly say my decision is totally non bias, and is only based on a lot of hard work. I am a business owner here in Utah , and I have come to learn that Mike Lee is the true conservative in this race, and the one candidate who can make a difference in washington to; limit government, stop spending, and fight for the constitution.

Morgan Philpot endorsed Mike Lee this week. Any of you that know Morgan Philpot, know that he is an exceptional man that has incredible integrity. Morgan’s endorsement means more to me than most of the others, because I know the character of Morgan personally. It will be amazing if we could get two men of this quality in Washington. It gives me hope to have such high quality candidates to choose from.

The truth about Mike Lee and Energy solutions

O.K. this question comes up so often, and people hear so much wrong information that I decided to wright a blog about the true Facts. I have ask and investigated quite extensively and here is the real story.

In the beginning of Governor Huntsman’s term in office, he was fighting a battle against a company who was trying to bring in spent nuclear fuel (very deadly) and store it above ground in Utah. This is VERY dangerous. The State had been fighting this battle for a long time, and was loosing. Governor Huntsman called in Mike Lee, who assembled a legal team to represent the State, and within a year they won the court battle, and ended this threat. Mike Lee won this battle to not have deadly nuclear fuel for the State of Utah.

Later, Energy Solutions hired Mike Lee to represent them in ONE court battle (not a regular attorney for them, just for one case.) To understand this case though, it needs a little background.

Energy Solutions got the approval of Utah to dispose of a particular type of material in Utah, several decades ago. It has been happening for a long time. This is construction type materials, aprons worn, or similar things. Not the actual nuclear materials themselves. They are stored very safely, and there has never been a single complaint or complication filed. Just a side note: a glow in the dark watch dial or illuminated EXIT sign would be too hazardous to go to Energy Solutions. This is VERY low level materials.

Utah gave permission for this facility decades ago, and it has been operating safely there since then. Now, more recently, Energy Solutions got a contract to take the same materials from Italy. Utah tried to stop them from doing so. The US Constitution is clear that INTERNATIONAL trade is the jurisdiction of the federal government. Utah gave approval for the facility. They could cancel the facility, but they cannot, constitutionally, say what state or country they can take material from. That is federal jurisdiction.

So, here, Energy Solutions hired Mike Lee to fight for their Constitutional Rights, as the State of Utah was overstepping it’s bounds. Mike fought that court battle, and won. The court agreed, this is federal jurisdiction, not the States.

If people do not like the situation with Energy Solutions, there are two ways to fight it. 1) Contact the State Government and try to get them to close the Energy Solutions Facility. The State CAN do that. They licensed it, and they can close it. 2) Contact the Federal Government, who has jurisdiction over international trade, and get a ban on foreign nuclear waste. As a side note, there was a federal bill going through to do exactly this, which Mike Lee has said he would support, but Senator Bob Bennett (who got $50k from ES) killed the bill and it did not pass.

Also, it is important to realize that Mike Lee represented Energy Solutions on this one case only. He is NOT their corporate attorney, and he has not had ANY campaign contributions from them.

I for one, appreciate that Mike Lee is willing to stand up for and defend the Constitution of the United States even when it is not popular or understood. This is what we need our Congressman and Senators to do more. DO the RIGHT thing (by the Constitution) not what you think is politically popular.

It reminds me of John Adams when he defended the British Soldiers in the Boston Massacre. It was very unpopular, but he did the right thing.

Mike Lee did NOT allow Energy Solutions to store Nuclear Waste in Utah. That was already allowed decades before. He did however defend and uphold the constitution when a State tried to overstep it’s bounds.

Only 5 days to go……….

I have noticed a shift in the feeling in the air. The Mike Lee events I have gone to this week have been fabulous, up beat, and positive. All the Mike Lee campaign people seem optimistic and excited. In watching the candidates this week, despite all the “negative ” talk I keep hearing about, it’s not coming from Mike Lee.

I seems the Tim Bridgewater campaign is getting scared and worried. Tim Bridgewater was on the verge of loosing it this last week at the debate. You can tell he is really on edge. The stress of the voters finding the truth about him is getting to him, and you can tell. Im sure he was hoping he could keep it all under wraps until June 23, but good for the voters of Utah, they did their homework and found out the truth. One candidate walks the walk that he talks, and it is Mike lee!

why is it wrong to point out facts?

How is it when you call out foul play and the records of people’s actions it is considered Negative campaigning? The people have the right to know good and bad about the candidates. If one of them is doing things that are not right, shouldn’t we point that out, before people vote for them? I have noticed over the many months I have been watching both candidates, Tim Bridgewater tends to accuse others of doing what he is doing. Mike Lee has run a “No Negative campaign from the beginning and that is one of the things I respect about him. I hope the voters do not fall for Tim Bridgewater smooth talking and conniving ways.

Why can’t we just get back to the issues and pick the best candidate. I guess this too, is a tactic to draw people away from the fact that Mike Lee has substance and knowledge behind all the campaign slogans. I have hope that the Voters in Utah will see the truth for what it is, and vote Mike Lee. If you are around the two candidates very much (which I have been) you can see that quite clearly.

We don’t need a Business man

Actually, what the government needs is to STOP acting like a business,thinking they need to run everything, and micro manage our lives.[/b] I am a small business owner also, and initially I thought Tim Bridgewater would be a great candidate because of of it.

But my business produces and gives back to the people, it does not take from the people to exist. I do not consider Tim’s version the American dream, or what makes free market and capitalism run in America. His business practices do not align with what he preaches. www.stopbridgewater.com

I’ve realized that what we need is not a business owner, but someone who knows the constitution, and the law. Someone who will fight for our rights and know how to get government to stop doing the things they shouldn’t. The only person that will do this is Mike Lee.

I think that when Mike Lee is supported by so many quality people, it says a lot about his character. The comparison of endorsements is quite different between the two candidates. People who are trying to make a difference in our community vs. your career politicians.

What I have learned about Tim Bridgewater

Initially, I really appreciated all of the candidates, and felt good about Tim Bridgewater, as well as Mike Lee (remember I knew nothing about either candidate before I started this process). They both sounded good in person and on their brochures/commercials, but the more I learned about Tim Bridgewater, and his background, the more concerned I became. The more I learned about Mike Lee, the more positive I became that not only was he the best candidate,but he is the one we TRULY NEED to help get America back in the right direction.

Here are a few facts I have learned about Tim Bridgewater that has concerned me. Of course he claims to be a great businessman, and is out campaigning on limited federal government, as well as reducing our federal spending. But here are a few facts from his past that just don’t add up.

1) Tim Bridgewater was a registered Washington D.C. lobbyist for an Indonesian company. (He actually has ties to MANY Indonesian companies.)

2) Tim Bridgewater has secured Tens of Millions (over $50 million I can find) of federal earmarks, grants, and stimulus money to support his businesses. ( I don’t consider that Free Market or limiting/reducing the federal budget/government.) This is how he has gained his great wealth, which he is using to self-finance this campaign (in other words, we are paying it through taxes, which have funneled to him).

3) Tim Bridgewater has used these federal taxpayer money (our money) to start up risky foreign businesses.

4) Tim Bridgewater supported No Child Left Behind, and Medicare Part D. Both big government expanding and high cost items (Medicare part D has a $18 Trillion unfunded liability). Not only did he support No Child Left Behind (which he is no against since it is unpopular) he also created a software company, partnered with President Bush’s brother, Neil, to profit from this legislation. Then, at the same time, he “volunteered” for the Governor’s Education Advisory Board. What do you want to bet he “Advised” they use his own software they made.

5) He also serves on the Board of Directors for the governments Import/Export bank, which gives international business loans out of our taxpayer dollars. He has also received millions of dollars in funding from this same government bank.

Tim Bridgewater has a VERY long history of expanding the federal government (and budget) for his own personal gain. I simply DO NOT TRUST that he will not vote every time for things that will personally benefit, or profit himself, due to his lifelong track record. I have personally searched for and found almost all of this information myself. I have called offices in Utah and Washington D.C. tracking much of it down. Much of the information is posted on his own business websites. I encourage you to do the same, and find out the real facts.

Now, to contrast this, I have gotten to know Mike Lee well over the past 5 months. I have checked his background as well, and I truly trust who he is and what he is doing. He is sacrificing his own personal life and finances to serve and help get our country back on track. He is an incredible Constitutional Scholar, who will not vote for any bill that he cannot reconcile with the original text and understanding of the Constitution.

Given the past five months, as I have spent countless hours with both of these men, and hundreds of hours researching them, only one is true and honest to what he claims. If you are looking for a great U.S. Senator who will fight to limit the power of the federal government, reduce spending, and fight for States Rights, Mike Lee is the ONLY choice for Senator this year.
